I know my website recently has been a bit heavy on You Tube content, but really wouldn’t you rather watch one of these videos than listen to a lot of my drivel? I think this video is great to demonstrate that yes, Physics really does have real-world applications. If you’ve got a child [...]
If you haven’t ever seen Animal School, you really must take a look at it. It was originally posted on Raising Small Soul’s website, but I’m posting it here from You Tube. If you enjoy it, please do stop by Raising Small Soul’s website for more great information.
One of my favorite things about homeschooling is that my children get to be children. They don’t have to enter the ranks of teens at the age of 8. As you get older, it’s easy to look at today’s ten year olds and think, they act much older than ten year olds [...]
I hope everyone’s having a good Thanksgiving Weekend. I just wanted to take a moment to recommend a free homeschooling book about the humorous side of homeschooling. You can see the author’s YouTube preview below. It turns out there are quite a few interesting YouTube videos about or by homeschoolers.
This video of a baptism is very funny. I wonder how mortified his mother was.
I’ve been working a new blogging project. So, head over and check out my new Natural Product Review blog. Be sure to let me know what you think. Or let me know if you have a product you want to see reviewed.
I’m almost embarassed to say that this is a Texas creation, but a man from Dallas has created… are you ready for this… FRIED Coke. Yes, you read that right– fried Coke!! I just can’t think of many things that could be worse for you. I’m trying to think [...]
And that’s why they don’t let you name your baby just anything in Germany. A couple in Mississippi named their baby ESPN. The scariest thing is there are three other known cases of couples naming their babies ESPN. What’s the thought process there?
This week’s question over at WAHM Blogger’s Network is about our blogging goals. I’ll be honest with you. At least 90% of the reason I blog is monetary. I’ve never been very good at journaling (you see from my lapses on this blog why), and I don’t know that I would really [...]
The new wiki has been taking a lot of time and attention recently. That’s a good thing because it means we’re having a lot more participation and a lot of stuff being added. The down-side is that I haven’t been as good about eating, exercising, or writing things down. But today is [...]
Today has been one of those days where I hardly feel like I have time to eat. But even on those days, I’m assured, it’s in my best interest to eat to keep my metabolism from deciding to take a vacation. After all, I’m a woman approaching my mid-30s– my metabolism needs [...]
I didn’t manage to post what I ate yesterday, but I think I remember it all
breakfast: yogurt with blueberries and strawberries and granola (a shocking surprise, I know, since that’s what I eat almost every morning)
snack: handful of pretzels
lunch: gazpacho and cheese sandwich
snack: handful of nuts
dinner: Taco Bell 7 [...]
This is this week’s question of the week over at WAHM bloggers. I thought, great, an easy one. I know how I measure success, right? I DO know how I measure success, don’t I? I mean, success is… uh oh. I DON’T know how I measure success. Rats. [...]
So, it’s flooding here in Houston. Fortunately, it’s not flooding HERE, and if the low will move off as predicted, hopefully it won’t approach the levels of Tropical Storm Allison.
It’s also my 4th child’s 4th birthday. He’s having a good day so far, in spite of the rain. We gave [...]
I’ve decided that I’m taking one day a week off from reporting or even recording what I eat. I think I need to do this to keep from becoming fixated on the topic of food. So, yesterday I took the day off. You can guess what I ate, if you like, but [...]
Thanks to a fellow blogger’s website, I came across this site that blew me away. I never knew such a think existed. You can go there, and people will bid to loan you money. Regular people loaning money to regular people… what a concept.
Not much time to write today, so here goes.
breakfast: yogurt, granola, blueberries
lunch: Nutrisystem minestrone
dinner: pasta casserole with whole wheat pasta, spaghetti sauce, and cheese; bread; 2 servings of strawberry shortcake
exercise: 20 minutes yoga
It’s hard for me to narrow down what my first job was– would that be babysitting, mowing, helping my Dad set up mobile homes? Or do I consider my college on campus work-study job to be my first job? Or would it be my post-college days of waiting tables and working retail? [...]
Blog spam. I log in, I see I have comments, I click on the comments… and there it is… blog spam. I’m not sure what the suitable punishment is for people who send blog spam, but it’s got to be worse than just deleting their messages. Any good ideas?
Weighing is just frustrating me, so I need to do that less often. Our scale is crazy, anyway, so perhaps I’ll just weigh twice a week when I go to the gym.
Today’s food
breakfast: apple cinnamon oatmeal, 1/2 cup of milk (I probably should have added some nuts or something with more protein to [...]
